Tour Overview

Mount Ol Doinyo Lengai, the “Mountain of God” in the Maasai language, is Tanzania’s only active volcano and the only one in the world that erupts natrocarbonatite lava. This thrilling 3-day adventure takes you deep into the Great Rift Valley for a night ascent of this sacred peak, paired with a visit to Lake Natron — a hauntingly beautiful alkaline lake known for its flocks of flamingos and surreal landscapes.

This experience combines physical challenge with cultural richness. You’ll hike past volcanic terrain, interact with Maasai communities, and enjoy stunning views of the rift escarpment and neighboring volcanoes. The night climb to the summit is steep and demanding, but the reward — sunrise from the peak with Lake Natron below — is unforgettable.

Ideal for adventurous travelers who seek more than a typical game drive, this trek offers both natural wonders and deep cultural immersion in one of Tanzania’s most remote and spiritually charged regions.
