If it’s a Monday, you’ll board a shared charter flight from Arusha Airport to Mahale Airstrip. Upon arrival, a dhow boat transfer (approximately 2 hours) will take you to the lodge. Once there, you’ll receive a warm welcome from the staff and enjoy a delicious lunch. In the afternoon, or perhaps in the early evening, you can embark on a thrilling chimpanzee trekking adventure or alternatively, take a forest walk if time permits. As the day winds down, you’ll enjoy sundowners, followed by dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge.
On Tuesday, after enjoying breakfast, you’ll set off for a captivating morning chimpanzee trekking experience. Following this adventure, you’ll return to the lodge where a hot lunch awaits you. In the afternoon, you’ll have free time for leisure, which allows you to relax and unwind. Later in the day, the evening offers a delightful opportunity for sundowners, subsequently followed by dinner. Finally, you’ll spend the night at the lodge, enjoying a restful overnight stay.
Wednesday begins with another exciting morning Chipanzee trekking expedition. Upon your return to the lodge, a hot lunch will be waiting for you. Following lunch, the afternoon is yours to enjoy at your leisure, allowing you the flexibility to explore the surroundings or simply relax. As the day progresses, you can savor sundowners, which will be followed by a delightful dinner. Ultimately, you’ll unwind and enjoy another restful night at the lodge. In summary, this day offers a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation, ensuring you make the most of your stay.
Thursday marks your departure day. Following breakfast, you’ll embark on a morning dhow boat transfer (approximately 2 hours) to Mahale Airstrip. Once you arrive at the airstrip, you’ll board a shared charter flight to Arusha Airport. In addition, a packed lunch will be provided for your journey, ensuring you’re well-fed on your way. As a result, this will conclude your remarkable adventure. Please be aware that shared charter flights operate on Mondays and Thursdays exclusively. Therefore, your travel plans should align with these days for seamless logistics.
