Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) to a warm welcome as your unforgettable African adventure begins. From the airport, transfer to the vibrant town of Arusha, nestled in the foothills of Mount Meru. Enjoy a delectable lunch and take some time to relax and acclimate to your new surroundings. In the evening, savor a sumptuous dinner at your lodge, surrounded by the tranquil ambiance of Arusha. Conclude your first day with a restful overnight stay, preparing for the incredible Trek experiences that await you.

Activities:
Drive from Arusha to Londorossi Gate for registration, then transfer to the trailhead. Trek through lush rainforest, spotting wildlife such as monkeys and exotic birds, to reach Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree) Camp. Overnight stay at the camp.

Ending Altitude: 3,610m (11,843 ft)
Distance: ~14.6 km (7-8 miles)

Activities
Transition to Moorland Zone:
Begin the day leaving the lush rainforest and entering the unique moorland zone, characterized by giant heathers and expansive views of the Shira Plateau.

Scenic Trek:
Enjoy the changing landscapes, with Kilimanjaro’s towering peaks coming into view. The trail passes through rolling terrain with occasional rocky outcrops.

Arrival at Shira 2 Camp:
Reach Shira 2 Camp by afternoon. Spend time relaxing, acclimatizing, and enjoying the breathtaking vistas as you prepare for the next stage of your trek.

Tip: Stay hydrated, and take short breaks to adjust to the higher altitude.

Altitude: 3,850m (12,631 ft) to 4,600m (15,091 ft), then down to 3,900m (12,795 ft)
Distance: ~10 km (6.2 miles)
Approx. Time: 7-8 hours

Activities:
Ascend to Lava Tower for acclimatization, enjoying the rugged alpine desert scenery. After lunch at Lava Tower, descend to Barranco Camp. This day follows the “climb high, sleep low” principle to aid acclimatization.

Distance: ~5 km (3.1 miles)
Approx. Time: 4-5 hours

Activities:
Conquer the iconic Barranco Wall, a challenging but exhilarating climb. Trek through the alpine desert to Karanga Camp, enjoying spectacular views along the way.

Altitude: 4,035m (13,238 ft) to 4,640m (15,223 ft)
Distance: ~4 km (2.5 miles)
Approx. Time: 3-4 hours

Activities
A short yet steady ascent to Barafu Camp, the base camp for your summit attempt. Spend the afternoon resting and preparing for the final climb. Early dinner and overnight rest.

Altitude: 4,640m (15,223 ft) to 5,895m (19,341 ft), then down to 3,080m (10,105 ft)
Distance: ~17 km (10.6 miles) round trip
Approx. Time: 12-16 hours (summit and descent)

Activities:
Begin the summit push at midnight, trekking through the cold night to reach Stella Point (5,739m/18,828 ft) at sunrise. Continue to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa, for breathtaking views and a sense of accomplishment. Descend to Barafu Camp for a short rest, then continue down to Mweka Camp for your final overnight stay.

Activities
Final Descent:
Enjoy an easy trek through the lush montane forest to Mweka Gate. The trail is scenic, and the descent offers a chance to reflect on your adventure.

At Mweka Gate:
Sign out at the gate and collect your trekking certificate. Take photos with your team and celebrate your achievement.

Transfer to Moshi/Arusha:
Drive back to Moshi or Arusha, where you can rest at your hotel or continue with onward travel plans.

Tip: Wear comfortable shoes and take care on potentially slippery paths.
